Flux Eye began long before it had a name. In 2010, in Kabul, our Managing Director Ahmad Mayar started a debate club to promote thought leadership and critical thinking among young people — a small, simple idea about giving people the tools to think rigorously and argue from evidence. It grew steadily over the following years, and in 2018 it was registered as a formal non-profit organisation with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, expanding into structured training on the Sustainable Development Goals and community sustainability programs, run on the ground until 2021.

Now we've established a more strategic presence in Australia, carrying more than a decade of grassroots experience into a new country and a new chapter — including postgraduate study at Monash Business School, sharpening the strategic and commercial side of a practice that had, until then, been built almost entirely in the field. We've formally incorporated that work as Flux Eye.\nWe still think of Flux Eye as an extension of that first debate club — just with a much wider table, and a team built to match the scope of what we take on.
